Boris Johnson said he was “appalled” by the findings of an internal probe into lawbreaking in Downing Street and called the behavior of some staff “unacceptable,” but insisted it is time to draw a line under the affair.

“Everybody who’s in any way involved in this whole sorry business has got to learn the lessons,” Johnson said at a press conference on Wednesday, hours after senior civil servant Sue Gray had laid bare humiliating details -- including staff members drinking heavily, singing karaoke and in one instance, even vomiting -- of the so-called partygate scandal.
