A senior lawyer accused law firm White & Case LLP of being a “toxic” place to work alleging he was fired after suffering from mental health issues triggered by his wife’s death from cancer.
Michael Wistow, former co-head of the EMEA tax practice, sued the City outpost of the US law firm at a London employment tribunal for disability discrimination. He said a bout of anxiety and depression -- which his lawyers say amounts to mental impairment -- during his wife’s battle with cancer led him to being unfairly dismissed.
