Why Is China Saying the U.S. Wants an Indo-Pacific NATO?

China’s Foreign Minister Wang Yi this week used his annual news briefing to claim the U.S. aims to form Asia’s answer to the North Atlantic Treaty Organization, and that America’s behavior was “doomed to fail.”
