Insurer Anthem Will Change Its Name to Elevance Health and Streamline Its Brands

Health insurer Anthem Inc. said it plans to change its name to Elevance Health Inc. and streamline the number of brands it has in the marketplace.

The new name is subject to shareholder approval, the Indianapolis-based company said Thursday in a statement. Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield health plans, among the most popular in the U.S., will not change names.
