Peru’s leftist president this week faces the second attempt to impeach him since he took office last July, while his government is also up against a vote of confidence in congress.

Opposition parties are collecting signatures to present an impeachment motion against President Pedro Castillo on Tuesday, after people close to him were investigated for alleged corruption.
