The Covid-19 omicron variant rapidly spreading through the U.S. has now closed its first major Broadway show. “Jagged Little Pill,” a musical based on the songs of Alanis Morissette, has ended performances and will not reopen.

“The drastic turn of events this week with the rapid spread of the omicron variant has, once again, changed everything,” the producers said in a statement posted on Twitter. The show saw multiple Covid-19 cases within its company.
