Women of Color Join Stoxx 600 Boards as Diversity Targets Loom

  • Eight Stoxx 600 firms increased the number of female directors
  • U.K. board appointments come ahead of a Parker Review target

The recent additions of female board members from ethnic minority backgrounds suggest boardroom diversity in Europe is expanding beyond gender. 

Ngozi Edozien became a non-executive director of Imperial Brands Plc on Nov. 15 and is also on the board of Guinness Nigeria, a listed unit of Diageo Plc. Harmeen Mehta, who was born and raised in Chandigarh, India, joined the Lloyds Banking Group Plc board at the start of last month, while Chinese venture capitalist Ruby Lu became a non-executive director of Unilever Plc on the same day.
