The push to convert Australia’s aging fleet of coal-fired power plants into clean energy production hubs is gaining more momentum.
Fortescue Metals Group Ltd.’s green investment arm and AGL Energy Ltd. will conduct a feasibility study over the next 12 months on repurposing two facilities in the Hunter Valley region of New South Wales, seeking to produce 30,000 tons of hydrogen a year using renewable energy sources.
