Tropical Storm Danny Makes Landfall in South Carolina

Tropical Storm Danny slammed into the South Carolina coast on Monday evening, prompting warnings for Charleston and other parts of the state.

Danny’s winds rose to 40 miles (64 kilometers) per hour, making it the Atlantic’s fourth named storm of 2021, according to the U.S. National Hurricane Center. Danny made landfall at around 8 p.m. Eastern time just north of Hilton Head, and may dump as much as 3 inches (8 centimeters) of rain on the region.
