Howard Marks Says ‘Best of Buying’ Came Too Fast for Record Fund

Howard Marks, co-founder of Oaktree Capital Management, says it’s a “challenging” time for traditional distressed investing as the wave of trouble stemming from the pandemic came and went.

“To get to higher returns these days, you have to be willing to extend credit” to companies that are “not clearly coming back,” Marks said during a Bloomberg TV interview with David Westin on Monday.
