President Joe Biden marked International Women’s Day by saying he’s nominating the second and third women to lead a combatant command in the U.S. military and by creating a gender policy council within the White House.
Biden said on Monday that he picked General Jacqueline Van Ovost as commander of the U.S. Transportation Command and Lieutenant General Laura Richardson as commander of the U.S. Southern Command.
