Maine’s Republican Senator Susan Collins declared victory in the most serious challenge of her career after managing to distance herself from the controversies of President Donald Trump and hang on to some of her bipartisan appeal.
Her win largely quashes remaining hopes Democrats had for winning the Senate majority, even with four other races still yet to be called.
