BOE Considering How to Factor Climate into Asset Purchases

The Bank of England plans to examine how it can factor climate considerations into its asset purchases, according to its Executive Director for Markets Andrew Hauser.
Green investment strategies are a “live issue” for the central bank, due to the corporate bond component of their quantitative easing program, he said in a speech Friday. Around 2% of the BOE’s Asset Purchase Facility is made up of such bonds.
