Slack Technologies Inc. Chief Executive Officer Stewart Butterfield said that swelling demand related to the Covid-19 pandemic will slow over time.

“We’ve experienced enormous surge in usage among existing customers, brand-new customers signing up, brand-new teams being created and the rate in which we are expanding right now is just not sustainable,” Butterfield said Friday in an interview on Bloomberg Television. “That will revert to the mean. When I say not sustainable, I mean we would have the whole world on it in a couple of months if we kept going.”
