Hong Kong Visitors Down a Record 96%

Hong Kong reported a record 96% drop in visitor arrivals in February after the coronavirus pandemic paralyzed travel. There were 199,000 visitors arriving in the city last month, the Hong Kong Tourism board said in a statement Monday, citing preliminary figures. Hong Kong is budgeting HK$400 million ($52 million) to help the tourism industry. Declines are expected to persist in March, according to the tourism board.
