U.S. Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross said President Donald Trump’s administration supports legal immigration, and prefers a “merit-based” system for allowing migrants into the country.

“The administration is not against immigration, it’s for lawful immigration, especially of people who have skill sets,” Ross said Tuesday at the Milken Institute Global Conference in Beverly Hills, California.
