Top Latam Banker's Exit Puts Spotlight on Julius Baer Unit

  • Departures comes two months after five other bankers left
  • One of those ex-employees was recently arrested in Miami

One of Julius Baer Group Ltd.’s top bankers for Latin America has left the bank, the highest-ranking executive so far in a series of recent departures that has put a spotlight on the bank’s operations in the region.

Marc Sulser, who oversaw the business with wealthy clients in the Andean region and central America, decided to pursue career opportunities outside the bank, Julius Baer’s head of Latin America, Beatriz Sanchez, wrote in a message to employees. Brazil chief Marc Braendlin will take on Sulser’s role on an interim basis.
