Baidu Slips on Talk of Google Search App for China

Baidu Inc. slipped 7.7 percent Wednesday after Google is said to be preparing a version of its search engine for China, according to people familiar with the situation. The news spurred a fifth consecutive day of losses for the Chinese internet search giant, the longest such streak since December.

Among other companies, Alibaba Group Holding Ltd. declined 1.0 percent and JD.com Inc. rose 1.2 percent.
