Trade uncertainty is fueling a sharp rally in short-term Canadian debt.

The Canadian two-year yield is down about 6 basis points to 1.736 percent as of 2:30 p.m. New York time, its biggest one-day drop since June 2016.

Canadian officials see a rising risk of the U.S. pulling out of the North American Free Trade Agreement. Roughly three-quarters of Canada’s exports go to the U.S.
