Switzerland Takes Top Spot in Europe for Sky-High Prices: Chart

The cost of meat, housing and health care helped push Switzerland to the top of a ranking of 38 European countries, according to Federal Statistical Office data for 2016 released this week. Iceland was the runner up thanks to the price of alcohol, while expensive tobacco propelled Norway to third place. Earlier this year, a study found the price of beef was as much as 150 percent higher than the world average in Switzerland.
