Wages Will Grow Fastest in These Asia-Pacific Countries Next Year

Higher inflation means higher wages for Asia-Pacific workers in 2018

Wages in Bangladesh and India are set to grow the fastest in the Asia Pacific region next year at about 10 percent, according to forecasts from Mercer. That’s mainly to compensate for higher inflation compared to developed nations, but also a pickup in hiring in India. Nominal salary increases in Singapore and Hong Kong are projected at 3.9 percent, while Japan scores the lowest at 2 percent.
