Ali Adou Starts As Head of Asset Management at Daman Investments

  • Adou was with Abu Dhabi’s The National Investor for 12 years
  • Daman focusing on institutions, high net worth investors

Ali Adou this month started as the new head of asset management at Daman Investments as the firm seeks to increase its presence amid institutional and high-net worth investors.

Adou will oversee products across different asset classes focusing on the regional fixed income and equities portfolio based in Dubai, he said in a telephone interview. Previously, he was the lead fund manager at Abu Dhabi-based The National Investor, where he worked for 12 years.

Daman Investments is seeking to expand its asset-management division by focusing on institutional and high net-worth investors in the United Arab Emirates and abroad, he said. The firm, which has its headquarters in Dubai, also has a brokerage and a corporate finance and advisory division.

Many regional insurers, high net-worth investors and family offices in the region are shifting from internal management to hiring professional firms amid recent changes in regulation and increase in costs, Adou said.
