Haggling Over the A380

The superjumbo’s future hangs in the balance and needs Emirates and Airbus to reach agreement to secure its future

Airbus SE and Emirates are wrangling over a heavily anticipated order for the A380 double-decker at the Dubai Air Show, with the future of the model on the line. While company figures show that the superjumbo already relies on the Gulf giant for close to half of its backlog, the situation is even starker in reality. Only 17 A380s are destined for airlines that still want them, with remaining orders in doubt.
