Ivies Fall Behind the Curve

Just half of the Ivy League's endowments beat the national average in fiscal 2017

The Ivy League is failing to keep pace with other U.S. schools. While four of the eight-member group -- University of Pennsylvania, Columbia, Dartmouth and Brown -- beat the 12.7 percent national average for endowment returns, the Ivies as a whole came in slightly under at 12.6 percent. It’s the second fiscal year the Ivy League lost ground to other U.S. school funds.
