Austria May Elect the World’s Youngest Leader on Oct. 15

At 31, Sebastian Kurz may upend the nation’s political order

Austrians seem set to overthrow their present political order for a neophyte leader who’d become the world’s youngest head of government. Federal elections are Oct. 15, and polls indicate voters will choose 31-year-old Foreign Minister Sebastian Kurz from the conservative People’s Party to form a new government. Kurz, who was born on Aug. 27, 1986, is younger than North Korean Supreme Leader Kim Jong-Un, Qatar Emir Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Bhutan’s King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck, Estonian Prime Minister Juri Ratas and even Saudi Arabian Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.
