North Korean Seafood Exports to China Surge Before Ban

North Korean seafood exports to China surged to more than $50 million dollars in July, Chinese customs data showed, rising before a complete ban starts Sept. 5 under a United Nations Security Council resolution, which also outlaws ores of iron and lead. The impending sanctions are pushing the shipments of aquatic and marine products higher, said Zhao Tong, a fellow at the Carnegie-Tsinghua Center for Global Policy in Beijing.
