U.K. Still Lags Its G-7 Peers in Economic Growth

The economy's growing, but it's slower than elsewhere

When U.K. Prime Minister Theresa May’s government began formal talks on exiting the European Union, the British economy was in poor shape, with first-quarter growth the weakest in the Group of Seven. Roll on the next round of Brexit negotiations -- which is set to start within days -- and not much has changed. The U.K. economy is still bringing up the rear among the major advanced economies.
