The usual pattern of solar-power generation in California was briefly disrupted on Monday as the eclipse crossed the U.S. The state’s power grid operator saw about 3,400 megawatts of large-scale solar power fall off the system, less than the agency had projected. “Things went really, really well,” Eric Schmitt, vice president of operations for the grid operator, said during a press briefing.
