Swiss Exports Hit All-Time High, Driven by Pharma Sales: Chart

Switzerland’s exports overcame a strong franc to hit an all-time high in the first half this year, thanks to a record second quarter. Two thirds of the increase was due to chemicals and pharmaceuticals, while machines, electronics and watches stagnated, according to Federal Customs Administration data. The strength of the currency has been a top complaint among exporters since the central bank gave up its cap on the franc in early 2015.
