Parents in Hong Kong will spend more to educate a child from primary school up through university, at $132,161, to pay for everything from tuition to transport, according to a survey by HSBC Holdings Plc of 15 nations and territories. Next is the United Arab Emirates at $99,378 and Singapore at $70,939. In Singapore, the government subsidizes schooling costs for locals and has doubled its education budget since 2005 as part of a plan to build the nation into a high-tech hub.
