India's $2 Trillion Stock Market Rivals Germany, Canada: Chart

The best returns among the largest markets this year have propelled the value of Indian equities above $2 trillion. The nation’s stock market is now the world’s ninth biggest by that measure and is closing the gap to Germany and Canada. The S&P BSE SENSEX Index closed at a record high on Tuesday, bringing its total return this year to 20 percent, amid optimism from both foreign and local investors that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s pro-business agenda will spur profits and growth.
