Goldman Sachs Jumps to No. 1 in U.S. Leveraged Loan Underwriting

  • Goldman, JPMorgan lead institutional loans league table
  • Non-bank lenders see biggest market share gains year-on-year

Goldman Sachs Group Inc. is the top underwriter of U.S. leveraged loans sold to institutional investors this year to June 29, according to data compiled by Bloomberg. The bank has 8.51 percent market share from 198 deals for $46.2 billion in volume. It jumped five places after boosting market share by 1.96 percentage points, the data show.

KKR & Co. saw the biggest increase in market share, rising 23 spots on the league table after increasing market share by 2.34 percentage points. The next biggest move was by JPMorgan Chase & Co., which grabbed the No. 2 spot with a 2.23 percentage points market share gain.
