More Than 100 Buried in Southwest China Landslide, Xinhua Says

More than 100 people are feared buried in a landslide in southwest China that smashed about 40 homes on Saturday morning, Xinhua news agency reported.

The landslide happened high on a mountain in the Tibetan and Qiang prefecture of Aba, in Sichuan province, and fell into a local village about 6 a.m.. It blocked a 2 kilometer (1.2-mile) section of a river course. Rescue efforts are underway, according to Xinhua.
