Amazon Just Erased $32 Billion From Its Competitors' Market Caps

The merger between Amazon.com Inc. and Whole Foods Market Inc. is a boon for their shareholders but a pain for their competitors. From Wal-Mart Stores Inc. to Kroger Co. to Target Corp., retailers saw their shares tumbling Friday, erasing $32 billion in combined market value. That’s double the total that Amazon and Whole Foods added.
