A Lot Riding on Trumpflation in OECD’s Economic Forecast

A lot is riding on Trumpflation, judging by the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development’s most recent global outlook. The U.S. is the only major economy where the Paris-based organization sees GDP growth picking up next year, due in large part to an increase in government consumption -- a component that rests on President Donald Trump’s defense-focused budget request. Whether the political will exists to push through the funding he seeks remains to be seen.
