Ortega Passes Bezos to Retake Spot as No. 2 Billionaire: Chart

Amancio Ortega reclaimed his place as the world’s second-richest person Thursday when Spanish fashion retailer Inditex SA rose 1.27 percent, adding $617 million to his fortune and lifting his net worth to $76.7 billion on the Bloomberg Billionaires Index. Amazon.com Inc. founder Jeff Bezos lost $978 million when shares of the online retailer fell $11.56 leaving him with net worth of $76.4 billion. Bezos passed Ortega and Warren Buffett to become the world’s second-richest person for the first time two weeks ago.
