A soccer player was injured following three explosions on Tuesday evening near the bus that was heading to a Champions League match in the western German city of Dortmund. Spaniard Marc Bartra, who plays for Borussia Dortmund, was hospitalized as a result of the injuries sustained in the blasts.

Police said the bus was struck shortly after 7 p.m. by the explosions as it left the hotel en route to the game against AS Monaco. The match was subsequently canceled and rescheduled for Wednesday.
