Macron Aims to Improve French Credibility in EU, Goulard SaysBy and
French presidential candidate Emmanuel Macron aims to improve France’s credibility with its European Union partners, European lawmaker Sylvie Goulard said.
“We need to go back to the economy,” Goulard said in an interview with Bloomberg TV. For that “we need France and Italy to be more credible. We’ll try to do our part in France.”
Macron, a 39-year-old independent candidate for the French presidency, is the only major candidate promising to keep France’s budget deficit under 3 percent of gross domestic product.
