U.K. Conservative Party Fined $86,000 Over Election Spending

The U.K. Conservative Party has been fined 70,000 pounds ($86,000) for failing to report accurately its campaign spending, the Electoral Commission said.

The spending report for the 2015 general election, which the Conservative Party won, was missing payments of at least 104,765 pounds, the regulator said in an emailed statement on Thursday. Other amounts were also incorrectly logged, it said.
