Canadian Energy Companies Aren't Feeling the Trump Rally: Chart

The value of Canadian energy companies versus their U.S. counterparts is at the lowest in 16 years as higher-cost oil sands producers fail to attract as much investor interest as companies south of the border. Talk of a border tax being considered by the Trump administration isn’t helping. “There is concern about the border tax, the negative impact it would have,” said Amir Arif, a Calgary-based analyst at Cormark Securities Inc. “A lot of U.S. investors feel they don’t need to take that added risk.”
