BNP Says de Caraman, Olive to Lead Asia-Pacific Investment Bank

  • To replace Christian de Charnace, who is retiring in June
  • Investment-banking appointments are effective from March 6

BNP Paribas SA has appointed Philippe de Caraman and Thierry Olive as co-heads of investment banking for the Asia-Pacific region to succeed Christian de Charnace, who is retiring from the bank in June.

The appointments are effective from March 6, the Paris-based bank said in a statement Tuesday. The two will report to Eric Raynaud, BNP’s chief executive officer for the region.

De Caraman, who is based in Hong Kong, joined the firm in 2011 and has been Asia-Pacific head of mergers and acquisitions since 2014, BNP said. Olive was most recently global head of equity capital markets and will relocate from Europe.
