Trump Executive Order Draft May Cut Visas for India IT Companies

The draft of an executive order from President Donald Trump may restrict the use of work visas for outsourcing firms such as Infosys and Wipro.

* "Our country’s immigration policies should be designed and implemented to serve, first and foremost, the U.S. national interest," order reads, according to draft reviewed by Bloomberg News.

* Infosys, Wipro, Tata Consultancy Services use H-1B visas and other programs to bring workers to the U.S.

* India trade group Nasscom defends companies’ use of the program and says legislation should not hinder smooth operation of companies.

* Trump Administration did not respond to request for comment.
