European Stocks Set to Bid Calmest Ever Farewell to Year: Chart

European investors are paying little heed to geopolitical concerns as they look set to wrap up 2016 with the calmest ever end to a year. Markets have proven resilient in the face of events including a probable terror attack in Berlin and the killing of Russia’s envoy to Turkey, leaving a measure of equity anxiety 31 percent lower in December. The VStoxx Index has fallen to its lowest level since July 2014 as bets for stronger economic growth have buoyed shares.
