EU Nationals Working in U.K. at Record Despite Brexit: ChartBy
The Brexit vote and the ensuing collapse in the pound are proving no deterrent to foreign workers. The number of European Union nationals working in the U.K. in the third quarter climbed to a record 2.26 million, or 7.1 percent of total employment, the Office for National Statistics said on Wednesday. Prime Minister Theresa May has been accused of making EU workers bargaining chips in the coming negotiations by refusing to guarantee they can remain once Britain leaves the bloc.
