Samsung Offices Entered by Prosecutors in Choi Case, Yonhap Says

South Korean prosecutors entered the offices of Samsung Electronics Co., seeking evidence whether the country’s biggest listed company illegally provided gifts to the daughter of Choi Soon-sil, the confidante of President Park Geun-hye at the center of an influence-peddling investigation, Yonhap News reported, without citing anyone.

Samsung is suspected of providing 3.5 billion won ($3 million) to a company owned by Choi to fund equestrian training in Germany for Choi’s daughter, according to Yonhap News.

The prosecutors office didn’t immediately respond to calls seeking comment and a spokeswoman for Samsung Group said the company was making checks.
