Crown Employees Held in China Being Treated Well, Australia Says

Three Australian employees of Crown Resorts Ltd. detained in Shanghai reported they were being treated well, the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade said in a statement Sunday after consular staff visited them.

Chinese authorities earlier this month detained 18 Crown staff. The three Australians included Jason O’Connor, Crown’s head of high-roller operations.

Australian envoys visited the three on Friday, according to the statement. “Due to our privacy obligations, we will not provide further comment,” the department said.
