Elliott Said to Hire Former York Managing Director Rosenbaum

Elliott Management, the $28 billion multistrategy firm run by Paul Singer, has hired former York Capital Management director Jeff Rosenbaum as a portfolio manager, according to a person familiar with the matter.

Rosenbaum joined Elliott’s special situations team, which invests in equity as well as in public and private credit, on Oct. 4, said the person, who declined to be named because the information is private.

Rosenbaum, who spent seven years at York, worked in the New York-based firm’s credit group. He was involved in some of the firm’s large North American credit investments and restructurings, which have included Edison Mission Energy, media giant IHeartMedia Inc. and Energy Future Holdings Corp., formerly TXU Corp. York oversaw about $19 billion in assets as of June 30, according to a regulatory filing.

A spokesman for Elliott declined to comment.
