BT Said to Suspend CEO, COO of Italy Unit Pending Investigation

BT Group Plc has suspended its two top executives in Italy while the company investigates an undisclosed matter, according to people familiar with the situation.

BT Italia Chief Executive Officer Gianluca Cimini and Chief Operating Officer Stefania Truzzoli were suspended earlier this week, pending the outcome of the probe, according to one of the people, who asked not to be named discussing an ongoing investigation. The Italian unit sells business services from BT’s Global Services unit.

A spokesman for BT declined to comment on the suspension or the nature of the investigation. Cimini and Truzzoli didn’t immediately respond to requests for comment sent through their LinkedIn pages.

According to his LinkedIn profile, Cimini joined BT Italia in 2010 as its chief financial officer. Truzzoli’s LinkedIn page says she joined BT in 2006. She is also a director of Italy’s Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena Spa.
