Hollande Rating Stagnant on Rejection by Leftists, Poll Shows

French President Francois Hollande’s approval rating remains stuck near a record low as left-leaning voters continue to disapprove of his performance, a poll showed.

About 16 percent of all voters now say Hollande is a “good” president, holding steady at the same level since May, according to an Odoxa poll published Tuesday. Among left-leaning voters, 63 percent disapprove of Hollande’s performance.

The poll also showed that former Prime Minister Alain Juppe and former Economy Minister Emmanuel Macron continue to be the two most popular politicians in France. Juppe is seeking the presidential nomination of France’s Republican party, while Macron quit Hollande’s government last month to lead his own political movement.
