Mexico’s peso is acting as a real-time gauge of U.S. presidential election sentiment. It tends to drop when Donald Trump gains ground in RealClear Politics’s average of presidential poll results, and rally when he slips. The peso fell earlier Monday after Hillary Clinton’s campaign disclosed that she has pneumonia and ended the day higher on the reduced likelihood of a Federal Reserve rate increase.
